Should "Galaxies" By Owl City Remain a Part of the AJ Galaxy?

Hey jammers! You guys are probably like "OMG YAY WOLFSTAR IS POSTING AGAIN!!! :D" However, I won't be able to post after Spring Break concludes due to the fact that I actually have even more work this year than I did last year.

However, I do have one concern to address. Since this blog began its journey, the song "Galaxies" by Owl City has served as an integral part of the Animal Jam Galaxy and of my story on Animal Jam, for the song (minus the religious segments of it) suits the blog quite well. In the past, I ignored the more religious aspects of this song and continued my journey in Jamaa as if this element did not exist. However, I realized today that some people who may not be religious may be offended by this song. As a result, I am not sure of whether or not this song should remain a part of this blog. A few of my friends have said that they loved this song, but I don't want to offend anyone who identifies with other religions or doesn't practice a religion at all.

What do you guys think? Should "Galaxies" by Owl City stay on this blog or should it be ejected into outer space? Let me know in the comments below!

If you guys do vote to remove this song, "Shooting Star" by Owl City will probably become the new theme song for this blog (you can listen to it at the bottom of this page).

That's all for now, and have a jam-tastic day everyone!

Update: After much consideration, I have decided to remove "Galaxies" from this blog in order to maintain this blog's high tolerance for any religious beliefs the viewers of this blog may have. I am truly sorry if my decision to remove "Galaxies" from this blog upsets you. Thankfully, both YouTube and soundcloud are sites that allow you to look up "Galaxies" and play it on a separate webpage while viewing this blog. I hope this helps!

  1. OMG!!! YOUR ARE BACK! I WAS WORRIED ABOUT YOU! YAY YOU ARE OKAY! I think that Shooting Star should replace Galaxies if people are offended by it. If no one says they ARE, then keep it the way it is now!

    1. Thank you for your advice! I will definitely take that into consideration when deciding whether or not to keep the song. :)

Uh, um. Sorry for the overdramatic greeting. Uh, it's DragonRider.... Not sure if you remember me or not, but.... uh...
Glad to see you're doing alright.....
    Just thought I'd say hi....
    Um, see you later, maybe.

    1. Dragonrider!!!!! How could I forget you?!?!?! :O *tackles* >:D

How are things? We seriously haven't talked in forever! Sorry it took about 10,000 years to respond to this; school has taken up way too much of my time lately. -_- :P Are you still playing Animal Jam? If so, how many updates has that game undergone since I was last on there... lol (you don't have to answer that one). :P

Hope to talk with you again soon (especially with Summer coming up) and that you have a fantastic rest of your school year!!! :D

    2. Some people have selective memory? ihavenoclue
I'm doing quite well, I had quite a few difficulties in school last year, but I've been doing much better now. :3
It's okay, school is a pain and gets in the way. Such as me taking almost a montth to reply to you. XD
Eh, not really. I pop on every once in a while to see how the handful of friends still playing it are doing, but I pretty much left a while ago. As for how many updates, I didn't count. Just. A lot. Nothing too major though, just new dens, animals going and leaving, new pets, that sorta thing.
Though what I do play a lot now are two games called FeralHeart and Flight Rising. FR has the most amazing community I've ever seen on the internet /ever/. They have their crowning moments of drama, but it's so nice and everyone's so friendly! FeralHeart... eh, the community sucks, I'll be honest. But I've met quite a few nice people and it's the only place I've actually seen people that like the stuff that I like at the moment, which is why I stay.
I hope to talk to you again soon as well, and I'll probably be more able to chat soon because I'm on the last of math and I've only got.. Eleven or so days until the end of school? I think? But yeah, I think it'll be nice to talk with you again! :D
Hope the rest of your school year isn't too hard! I would say hope that you enjoy it but let's be honest, how enjoyable is school really?
Now, I must return to complaining about the History book being a very ineffective method of teaching us about history! XD

    3. Also, I apologize for not actually talking about what the post's subject is. XD
Welp, being non-religious myself, I can assure you that I am not offended in the slightest by Galaxies. But I'd change it just in case, because I know that there are many people out there who are easily offended by religious things. It's better to be safe than sorry in my opinion. But then again, that's just me, and I am most definitely a minority in the population. Heck, I'm a minority /of/ the minority in some cases. But it's your decision, and I won't mind either way. :3

    4. As somebody who is also non-religious, I came to the exact same conclusion that you did in regards to Galaxies being present on my blog. Before, I tended to pay more attention to the beat and rhythm of the song than to the lyrics, so I didn't notice the religious aspects of it that much. However, I have recently started paying more attention to the lyrics of the songs I listen to and realized that the lyrics to Galaxies may offend some people of different religious beliefs. Thank you for giving your opinion about the song!

Also, I didn't respond to your comment for exactly a month (you commented on April 16 but I didn't respond until May 16) for the same reason that delayed your response, so I know exactly how you feel. :P

I'm not really surprised about the Animal Jam updates. A similar situation took place when I briefly logged on to Animal Jam back in December. Also, right after I created a post on here stating my official departure from Animal Jam, I noticed that most of my friends quite around the same time I did for similar reasons. In fact, I think about half of the friends on my friends list are grey tigers now (I also only ever had a couple of friends come on Animal Jam during my time on there this past December).

I'm really glad you met some nice people on Flight Rising and FeralHeart! I don't really play any games currently due to the fact that high school has gobbled up all of my time... lol (seriously though; if my life since I started high school was a game of Pacman, high school would be Pacman and the little yellow dots that Pacman eats would be my time). :P However, I feel like the time I spent bonding with you guys through Animal Jam and this blog has really helped me establish better friendships in real life due to the fact that it allowed me to be better able to express myself. I also went through some stressful times last year, but once those were resolved, I started having the time of my life because I finally found a group of people in real life with whom I truly felt like I belonged (I didn't really know very many people who shared my interests before high school). :D However, I realized after I read your comments that nobody I know in real life (except for DragonWolf70, dadmumme, my parents, and a couple of other relatives) knows that I was once a really active blogger... lol. Maybe I will tell them one day. :P :)

I can TOTALLY relate to your struggles with a History textbook. I personally took AP World History this past semester, and the textbook our class used was seriously the worst textbook I have ever worked with. This is mainly because it is not reader-friendly at all and it has several inaccurate facts in it (even our teacher didn't like it... thankfully most of us still did well in the class). :l Then again, how in the world is one supposed to learn 10,000 years of human history in one semester?! Lol. :P

Good luck with the rest of Math and with the rest of the school year! I know Math can be a difficult subject for some people. The school year just ended this past Thursday for me, and I am still in denial of the fact that I am going to start college in just over two years... haha. :P

I am so glad to hear that everything is going well for you, and I hope you have a fantastic Summer!

      Your friend,

    5. Aaaand that was seriously the longest comment I have ever typed... lol. :P I would totally take the time to write a comment of that length for a friend like you though. :) <3

    6. Sorry about the long wait for this comment. Darn my slowness.
No problem. I've always payed attention to the lyrics, though I admit, I never even noticed Galaxies had religious aspects until more recently, when I listened to it again. Oblivious Dragon is oblivious. XD
It's... probably because your friends either grew out of it at the same time you did, or they'd grown out of it a long time ago and were only staying because you were staying. I know I left when Dragon and one of my friends that you haven't met, Jazz, left. I figured out that well... without my friends, AJ just wasn't fun anymore. But who really knows?
I honestly admit... I've always felt helpless when my online friends are having trouble in their life. I always wish I could help them, wipe away the blackness that clouds their otherwise happy life.... But I never can, I can only offer support and try to cheer them up while they're online... But, knowing that somewhere along the way, I did manage to brighten someone's life... I'm just so glad that I managed to help someone out.
....Darn it. I accidentally vented again, didn't I? Oh well.
I'm glad you managed to find your people. I'm still working on that myself, but in the meantime, I shall attempt to introduce my friends to some of my interests. XD
Textbooks.... ah textbooks. Math and History, both sucked. I'm smarter than the Math textbook, I swear. It gets problems that I get right wrong /constantly/. Not to mention the way it teaches you is less informative than the fictional book about magical islands that is right next to me.
      ...Okay maybe not that bad.
Math is the only thing that gives me trouble. History is more a case of it being so dang dull and uninformative that it makes me want to rip my hair out, and Science is good. Plants. YES.
Well, one's childhood is much shorter than the rest of their life. Just find something that you love to do and persue it, and I'm sure that the rest of your life will go well. :3
I hope you have a fantastic Summer as well! I'm sure I will, 'cause I'm going to be writing this story I've been working on, and I'll get to see my friends again!
      CHILLDDD
I must ask you an important question.
Have you heard about .hack and Mega Man?
Also, what kind of music do you like?
And would you like to read some of the stories I've written? If you have google docs, I could share the document with you so you can read it. :3

    7. Mmm. Didn't look that long to me, but I've witnessed Semi-Advanced to Advanced roleplays, and those can get long as heck. XD

    8. Meaning, I'm not intimidated by it.
Though I do think that it's an honor that you think I'm a good enough friend to write such a long post. It's rare that I see a post that big just for chatting..

    9. Haha yeah, I can be a bit wordy with my thoughts sometimes. :P

Also, I am dying to know who wrote the comment that is 3 comments above this one! I feel like Dragonrider typed that comment as well, but I'm not entirely sure... haha. :P

I used to not really like history either; it wasn't until after I started middle school that I began to develop a real appreciation for the subject. :P

I have no clue what .hack is; I have heard of Mega Man though. I like a variety of different types of music; but my favorite genres include electronic, hard rock, house, electropop, 60s-80s music, and inspirational music. I would love to read the stories you've written! I want to know who actually typed your comment before I give you my Animal Jam email though.

I hope you (both?) are having a spectacular Summer so far!

    10. Oh yeah, it's still me, DragonRider. Sorry that I used "Dragon" in reference to myself and DragonWolf, I can see how that would be confusing. XD
I tend to go by Zero more often now, so. XD
      That, my friend, is awesome.
I don't know what 99% of the songs I like are, but I know that Rock/Opera is weirdly awesome for such an odd hybrid.
Summer's going well, but too fast. I have a feeling it'll be over before I'm ready... but oh well, such is life. Might as well enjoy it while it lasts! :3
.... *Evil laugh* I will have to corrupt you with .hack, it seems. XDD
      Now
I must take a moment to screech in joy that not only do I get to continue talking with you, but a show that I'm watching is releasing the finale for season two tomorrow. It's fate, I tell you! XD

    11. Haha, that's cool. :P I guess I thought somebody else wrote it because of the length of the comment. :P

Cool nickname! I'll probably call you Dragon or Dragonrider for a little while still... lol. :P

Thank you! I probably left some out (actually, I'm currently listening to an alternative rock song); I'm definitely one of those people who likes a large variety of music genres.

I don't really listen to Opera that much, but it seems cool. :)

Up until the summer of 2013, summers had gone by way too slowly for me and I had been anxious to go back to school. However, last summer went by way too quickly. This summer seems to be the exact same way. However, I have some pretty big plans for this school year, and I'm kind of looking forward to it. It will be chaotic, but it will also be really epic (then again, that's kind of expected since I will be a junior in high school this year... I honestly can't even believe how quickly high school is flying by).

Nuuuu don't hack meh!!!! I like my computer!!!!!! D: :P

Thank you! I love talking with you too! It seems like you're enjoying your show so far! :D

I'm actually going out of town with my family in a few hours (after my mom gets off of work) and will be out of town for the next five days. During one of those days, I will reunite with an old friend of mine (you may know her as dadmumme... although I don't think you met her on AJ before she stopped playing). I'm really looking forward to that and to the other things we will do during the trip. :D

I'm glad everything is going well for you!

    12. Pff, if you think that's bad, you should've been around to see what I have dubbed "The First Harry Potter Novel" post. XD
I'm cool with being called that too. :3
Not a problem! Liking lots of different kinds of music is always a good thing. :)
I don't listen to Opera, I only listened to what I was referring to because of what it was loosely based off, and I'd heard it was good, so might as well. And, it was awesome. XD
Mm. Last one went fast, until August. /That/ month went suuuper slowly.
      Ooh, that's cool! What'cha planning?
      Mwhahahaha! >:D
Talking with you is a wonderful thing! It brings back so many good memories of the, *Ahem* "Ye Olden Days". XD
Ooh, that's cool! I hope you have a good time! It's always wonderful to see your old friends again. :3
I wish you a wonderful time while you're gone! :)
